INFORMATION ABOUT GROUPS

This social skills group is play based and child led, which means we actual play for most of the session working on turn taking, negotiation, emotional regulation, self advocating, etc. We tailor each session to match your child’s area of strengths and needs to engage the children in meaningful play with peers. We work to include parents from intake interviews to weekly updates. Our research based methods look at the whole child and scaffold each interaction to best suit each child’s need. Relationships are the foundation with which learning is built and this group with strength any child’s bonds.

TYPICAL SESSION INCLUDES:

-Hello, Check-in, play planning

-Playtime–Cooking, art, block building, dress up, kitchen play or restaurant play, etc

-Book, Puppet show or other group activity related to theme or social skill

-A “work together” time-Teacher led and structured activity around children’s needs and interest

-Goodbye meeting
